Our Story

story

Wisconsin Jaguars Ltd. auto club was formed in 1979 to serve the needs of Jaguar enthusiasts through-out the state for the exchange of information and ideas, and to share the sheer joy of these wonderful cars. In 1985 our club chose to affiliate with Jaguar Clubs of North America. Joining with JCNA allowed us to communicate and associate with other clubs around America. We could also compete in regional and national level competition; most of them being concours.

The early years were more about social, driving and technical events. The concours events soon began to play a bigger part of the club. A slalom event was added as JCNA began to promote it. Another favorite event was heading to Road America to watch vintage races. Thanks to a lot of enthusiastic members, the club has hosted the National Jaguar event twice; First in 1995 at the Milwaukee County Zoo and surrounding areas. The second time the event took place at Road America and Elkhart Lake in conjunction with the Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival.

Today the club has a variety of events to keep our members interest. We have our annual concours. Some members do compete on a regional and national level. Great social events including the potluck dinner, the summer party and dinner show events are very popular. We have driving events on some great roads. A few of our members even race vintage cars.

Since its formation, our club has grown to a current membership of more than 100 owners (families) with more than 200 Jaguars. The Jaguars owned by our members have ranged from a 1934 SS1 Coupe to the current F-Type R, and from the famous 1937 SS-100 roadster through the XK-120, 140 and 150 series, all of the E-Types, and almost all of the Saloons and Sedans produced. Some rare models, such as a C-Type, D-Type, XK-SS, XJ220, and a XJR-12C are, currently, or have been owned by our members.
There are still a lot of great stories to be written. All that’s missing is you.
